Jameda Removal Requests: How the Review Process Actually Works

Hardly any portal occupies medical practices as much as Jameda. Yet the review procedure for contested ratings follows clear rules – and those who know it file more successful complaints.

The procedure: After a complaint, Jameda asks the author to substantiate the treatment contact. If no sufficient evidence is provided, the review is removed. That is precisely why pointing out an unclear treatment contact is the most effective lever – not arguing about the content.

The timescales: The procedure usually takes a few days to several weeks and cannot be accelerated from the outside. What matters is a precise, complete initial complaint – having to supplement it costs time.

The legal situation: The German Federal Court of Justice has strengthened the position of doctors vis-à-vis review portals in several rulings, for instance on the question of when a profile may be maintained against the practice's will. For removal requests this means: portals have to examine complaints seriously.

And confidentiality? Practices must not disclose any treatment details in their replies – not even when the review itself mentions details. This is the point most often overlooked in day-to-day practice.
