Funding in Berlin: Transfer BONUS for Digitalisation Projects

The Digitalprämie Berlin, long the standard instrument for small businesses, has expired. The most important grant programme for digitalisation projects of Berlin SMEs is currently the Transfer BONUS, administered by IBB Business Team GmbH.

What is funded?

The programme funds contracts with research institutions from Berlin and Brandenburg – for example for developing and introducing digital products, services or processes in your company. The project may run for a maximum of twelve months.

Funding rates

• Entry variant: 100 % of the contract volume, max. €7,500 – once, for the first cooperation with a research institution
• Standard variant: 70 %, max. €15,000 – up to three times in three consecutive years
• Standard variant digitalisation: 70 %, max. €45,000 – once

Who is it worth it for?

The Transfer BONUS targets projects with a development component – so not the simple standard website, but projects in which something new is created: custom digital processes, data-driven applications or AI-supported solutions.
