The vegan capital: directory, events and classifieds for Berlin

hauptstadt.net brings Berlin's vegan scene together: restaurants, cafés, shops and initiatives in a directory, plus events and classifieds. Built on Joomla 6 with SobiPro.

A portal that makes places findable (including nearby), collects events and gives the scene a marketplace. It had to go live quickly and be maintainable without a large team.

The implementation

Built on our portal platform (Joomla 6, SobiPro directory, event calendar, classifieds, forms with spam protection), with its own design and a “near me” radius search. More than 500 places and almost 200 events were listed at launch. Migrated to Joomla 6 in September 2026.

Special features

The sister site catering.hauptstadt.net (Sunshine Catering) is attached to the same portal. The vegan capital is Reuther Media's own project.
