Shopware 6: Packaging Retailer Launches New Online Shop

From catalog to web shop: a Berlin packaging retailer now sells via Shopware 6 – with clean product data, modern payment methods, and integration with its merchandise management system.
The starting point
A Berlin packaging retailer with a broad range – from folding cartons to filling material – had sold the traditional way for years: printed catalog, orders by phone and email, quotes prepared by hand. It worked, but it tied up a lot of staff time and made it hard for new customers to get an overview of the range at all. The goal: an online shop that accepts orders around the clock without overturning the established internal processes.
Our solution
- Shopware 6 as the foundation: a modern shop system, widely used in Germany, that grows with the product range.
- Clean product data: hundreds of items with variants such as size, thickness, and packaging unit, structured and well prepared – the basis for filters, search, and future extensions.
- Tiered pricing and B2B features: volume discounts and ordering on account, just as business customers expect.
- Payment and shipping: common payment methods and shipping costs calculated automatically by weight and volume.
- Integration with merchandise management: stock levels and orders flow between the shop and the merchandise management system without duplicate data entry.
The result
The shop takes orders while the team focuses on consulting and shipping. Existing customers reorder their standard items in just a few clicks, and new customers quickly find the right product via categories and search. The number of routine phone orders is falling – and the catalog is now a supplement, no longer a necessity. Note: This project is described anonymously; we only publish references naming the client with their approval.
